While this certification yielded limited commercial impact—Copilot+ AI machines represented just 1.9 percent of total computer sales in early 2025—it prompted OEMs like ASUS and Dell to build more powerful devices. It also drove Microsoft to adapt Windows for improved compatibility with Qualcomm's ARM architecture. Nonetheless, it's difficult to envision Windows makers rivaling Apple by reverting to current or prior x86 processors with reduced memory.
